Ⅰ.Description:

Viscoelastic Tape  is a new-type high-performance visco-elastic polyolefin material. It preserves the dual characteristics of the solid adhesive material and liquid adhesive material. In normal conditions, its visco-elastic property will keep above 30 years. This product has excellent visco-elastic, sound water-proof and easy-used characters.

Instructions For The Use Of Viscoelastic Anti-corrosion Tape and Viscoelastic Paste

1.Surface treatment

The surface rust is removed by mechanical descaling equipment (electric angle grinder) to a level of ST2. After descaling, the surface of the pipe is dried using a hot blower.

2.Anti-corrosion tape with viscoelastic wrapping around the pipe body

Wrap a layer of viscoelastic anti-corrosion tape around the completed surface treatment section, with a lap length of not less than 50 mm from the end to one side, with a minimum lap length of 10 mm at the joint of the anti-corrosion tape; it is not necessary to maintain a high tension when wrapping viscoelastic anti-corrosion tape, but it is sufficient to press the edge of the tape and the lap part by hand. 

3.Anti-corrosion tape with viscoelastic around flanges and other shaped parts

For anti-corrosion work at connections such as valve flanges, anti-corrosion paste can be used to fill the connection bolts flat and then wrap them with viscoelastic anti-corrosion tape.

4.Wrap-around protective tape

The basic operation method is the same as the construction of the viscoelastic anti-corrosion tape, but when winding the outer protective tape to maintain a certain tension, the amount of lap in the joint part is 50%, the ends of the anti-corrosion pipe section are exposed 1 to 2mm, without winding the outer protective tape.

Quality requirements for the installation of viscoelastic anti-corrosion tape and external protective tape: flat surface, even laps, no bubbles, wrinkles and breakage.
